In 2021 and 2023, Live Nation Entertainment (Ticketmaster & Live Nation) pushed forward ticketing legislation that would have driven up prices for consumers across Colorado. In 2021 the Headwaters team mounted a comprehensive effort to defeat both measures, rallying stakeholders, launching an advocacy campaign, and ensuring lawmakers understood the real impacts this legislation would have on everyday Coloradans. In 2023 when the bill advanced through the legislature despite these efforts, Headwaters doubled down and through our extensive relationships and negotiating tactics, successfully persuaded Governor Polis to issue a veto. Through our persistence and political acumen, Headwaters preserved a competitive ticketing market in Colorado and preserved affordable access to concerts, sports, and live entertainment for millions of residents.
